"Time of your life, huh kid...."
Guido The Pimp from the movie "Risky Business"
Hi, I'm Phil Porter, I live in Edmond Oklahoma, a state that is famous for, among other things, being flat. These photos were taken from June 21 to July 6, 2005 and memorialize my ride to the Canadian border in northern Montana to the Mexican border at Antelope Wells, New Mexico, via the Great Divide...which is mostly forest service dirt roads, and fire trails. The trail was laid out by members of the Adventure Cycling Association over a number of years. My hats off to them, great job! This was the most fun trip I have ever taken, and if you get the chance, I highly recommend it! Time of my life indeed!!
Well, that was then and this is now, 2012...7 years later. The Christmas of 2005 a book entitled "Riding a Motorcycle To Alaska" By Dr. Gregory Frasier appeared in my stocking...and I began planning the logistics for a trip to the Arctic Circle, and here is the gallery for that trip. I owe a whole bunch of people more than I could ever re-pay for their encouragement and help, most of all my wife Sally. She understands why I ride a motorcycle places most people wouldn't go in a 4 wheel drive truck. Many thanks to everyone involved, voluntarily or otherwise.Once again, time of my life!!
